Applikasjon

Dette er en spennende måte å lage applikasjon. Dette er et nettkurs som jeg har deltatt i ved Craftsy.com. Kurs lærer en Wendy Butler Berns. Tidligere har jeg alltid brukt vlisofiks for å lime på applikasjoner her er de brukt frysepoapir på rettsiden ig en slags puslespillsteknikk og papirlim for å få sømrommet under delene.

This is a new way for me to applique. This is an online course that I have participated at the Craftsy.com. Course teaches Wendy Butler Berns. Previously I  used vlisofiks for bounding the applications. This technique used  freezer paper on the right side of the fabric and a kind of jigsaw puzzle technique and paperglue for turning under the edges.

Nå må det hele sys fast - det blir i løpet av helgen :) 

Møte i Rogaland Quiltelag

Onsdag hadde vi møte i laget. Tema var embellishment og Bitteliten hadde butikk. Vi hadde en workshop hvor vi lærte å male på blonde. Det var kjekt. Jeg måtte kjøpe med meg litt maling og dette må også prøves i helgen. Gleder meg.

Wednesday we had a meeting in my quilting guild. The theme was embellishment and "Bitteliten"  had shop. We had a workshop where we learned how to paint lace. It was nice. I had to buy me some paint and this must also be tested this weekend. Looking forward.

Ny bok Quilters play time

Kjøpte denne boken. Har kost meg med den i flere dager nå. Har fått masse ideer som må prøves på syrommet til helgen

I bought this book. It's great: I have browsed in the book for several days now. I have got lots of ideas to be tested on the sewing room in the weekend

This is the result from my experiment.  I have a project in my mind, and an idea of how to use these fabrics. I need some time to work on it – hopefully soon



Winter

It’s winter. The temperature is at minus 10 degree Celsius. It’s cold. This old oak has survived many cold winters, and has been given me inspiration for a new quilt.

Taking a class at Quiltuniversity

I am participating in a class called "inspired to design" by Elizabeth Barton at the Quiltuniversity. I love it. It takes some time to figure out how to do this; the class offers lots of way to find inspiration and to transfer it to a design that can be made as a quilt.

Now I have to find the color and values to make the quilts. Hopefully I have some fabrics in my stash that are suitable!

Rust dyeing

I am testing how to dye fabric with rust. I have a clever husband who is working with metals and he suggested some rusty items. I soaked fabric in water and vinegar, and wrapped it round the rusty iron items. Now I leave them outside waiting for the fabric to rust!
